 Using Your Wedding Planning Checklist

Bridebook's Checklist is your personalised wedding planning companion, designed to keep you organised from the moment you get engaged right through to your wedding day.

Based on your wedding date, we'll automatically create a tailored timeline filled with helpful tasks, reminders, supplier suggestions, and expert advice to help you stay on track throughout your planning journey.

Getting Started

When you open your Checklist, you'll see your wedding planning tasks organised in chronological order, guiding you through each stage of planning.

Your Checklist is designed to be flexible – think of it as a helpful guide rather than a strict schedule. You can complete tasks in whatever order works best for you and personalise the Checklist to suit your plans.

If a task becomes overdue, you'll see a red calendar icon next to it so it's easy to spot.

Understanding Checklist Tasks

Click on any task to view more information and helpful planning resources.

Assigning Responsibilities

You can assign tasks to members of your wedding team by selecting Who's responsible for this task? and adding their name. This is a great way to keep track of who's handling different parts of the planning process.

Subtasks

Many Bridebook-generated tasks include subtasks to help break larger planning jobs into manageable steps.

As you complete each subtask, you'll make progress towards completing the main task. Once all subtasks are finished, the main task will automatically be marked as complete.

Supplier Recommendations

The Suppliers tab contains relevant venue and supplier suggestions related to the task you're working on, helping you discover trusted wedding professionals at the right stage of planning.

Expert Advice

The Advice tab provides helpful articles and planning guidance connected to your current task, giving you expert tips exactly when you need them.

Adding Your Own Tasks

Every wedding is unique, so you can add custom tasks to personalise your Checklist.

To add a task:

  1. Open your Checklist.
  2. Select Add task.
  3. Enter a task name.
  4. Choose a due date.
  5. Save your task.

Custom tasks are a great way to keep track of personal to-dos that are specific to your wedding plans.

Editing Task Dates

You can update the due date of individual tasks at any time, just click into the task and select the due date at the top.

If your wedding date changes, simply update it in your wedding settings and your Checklist timeline will automatically adjust to match your new date.

Deleting Tasks

If you no longer need a task, you can remove it from your Checklist.

To delete a task:

  1. Open the task.
  2. Scroll to the bottom.
  3. Select Delete this task.

Viewing Completed Tasks

Want to review what you've already achieved?

On desktop: Select Completed at the top of your Checklist.

On the app: Select Done at the top of your Checklist.

You can also use your progress indicator to see how much of your wedding planning you've completed so far.

Restoring a Completed Task

If you've marked a task as complete by mistake, you can easily bring it back.

  1. Open your completed tasks.
  2. Find the task you'd like to restore.
  3. Untick the checkbox.

The task will reappear in your Checklist on its original date.

Resetting Your Checklist

If you'd like to start again, you can reset your Checklist by opening your completed tasks and unchecking each completed item.

Your Checklist will then return to its original state, allowing you to work through your planning timeline again.

Need More Flexibility?

Remember, your Checklist is completely customisable. You can add your own tasks, adjust dates, delete items you don't need, and complete tasks in the order that works best for you.

It's there to support your wedding planning journey and help make the process feel simpler, more organised, and less stressful.
